A condemned man

With a crime rate that has almost doubled in the last two years, the city of Vancouver has experienced many different situations of crime and brutality. With three claimed murder's and the charge of another two, a Vancouver native man that is established with the Red Scorpion gang, that has made him one of Vancouver most condemned criminals of all time.
With a great fear of public safety, and awareness of the gang wars in our city, “It is a factor Crown looks at generally as to whether the public interest requires proceeding. Any sentence imposed would end up being concurrent to the life sentence where a person has been convicted of murder,” MacKenzie said. Dennis Karbovanec's surprise plea to all of these charges has left him with the utmost amount of charges that could tally up to life in prison without the permission of any type of parole. Accounts and charges that contain; carrying a unregistered weapon, a silencer, assault, breaking and entering, and carrying a silencer Karbovanecs history adds up for itself. Refusing to say whether dropping the other charges was part of a plea agreement reached with Karbovanec, But MacKenzie said "that generally speaking, Crown will consider staying charges when someone is already convicted of a more serious offence than the counts in the other cases."
The police department of Vancouver has been watching and investigating the members that help commit these alleged crimes and countless amounts of murders in the Lower mainland of Vancouver. Hopefully these crimes will end soon without to many incident people dieing and becoming involved with this mayhem, because any amount of incident people who have been dieing is too much for our great city of Vancouver.” Crown, in the circumstances, decided that it wasn’t in the public interest to proceed at this point with those outstanding matters,” MacKenzie said.

Polygamy convictions?

Polygamy is the situation of a married man that contains more than one spouse. In this situation the two men who are prosecuted have more than one wife, and even though charged with polygamy are pleading not guilty to these accounts. Winston Blackmore and James Oler have pleaded not guilty to a single charge each of practicing polygamy, with serious fine and penalties to be judged.
The two men who have been charged are arguing that their case have prohibited their lives. Arvay is arguing that because the attorney-general in 1993 said the polygamy law was unconstitutional, there was a clear assumption that charges would not be laid. Except the idea of facing the penalty, the two men are arguing the idea of legal fees, and money that need to be contributed to them because of the fatal state they have they and their families have been through.
Charged in January Blackmore, a fundamentalist Mormon, is a former bishop of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, along with Oler, the current FLDS bishop, of having more than one wife. The reason this case have been blown up, is the fact that this case could be the leading precedent in Canada's courts about this special and rare conviction.

Welfare cases skyrocket in Vancouver

Vancouver has shared it's countless amounts of problems and poverty throughout the years, but more than 10,000 British Colombians has applied for welfare, and a helping hand just to get by. Since the last fall, the recession has created a countless amounts predicaments that have troubled the Lower Mainland and its population of 2,524,113 million residents.
Families with children and multi incomes were hit the hardest, the number of two-parent families able to work have received an income assistance increase of 75 percent between September and March. At the same time 57 percent of hard working males with children have also increased their percentage of welfare assistance in the past year. The major problem counts the children of these hardworking parents that are constantly looking for a better quality of life, but this struggle can affect the children, their education, and hit their experiences by a long shot, “Some people grow up in a welfare home and they get used to it.” Studies have showed the outcomes of struggles in Vancouver, which the percentage of the unemployed after the economy has fixed itself to stay high, but the government ensures the people that times have changed.“You might think we’re going to see that again, but the policy now is much more oriented toward getting people off welfare and into the work force,” Riddell said. “As long as that policy stance remains in place, and the economy recovers to where it was last summer, I don’t see any reason to believe rates will stay higher.”
Even with the government rising the amount of welfare that is spread around all of the citizens, the main problem of people getting back on their feet isn't as easy and probable as some government officials believe. The economy needs to boost, and if it does not, then a helping hand must come out from our newly elected government that is usually proposing a better way of life. “People who are accessing income assistance are at the end of the road. They have no savings or employment, so they’re really needing outside support,” said Melanie Hardy, manager of employment services at the Vancouver YWCA.

Vitamin D and it's affects on Men

Performance of the brain has been studied and looked upon for many years; new European research that was tested with more than 3,000 European men has clearly suggested vitamin D has the ability to boost cognitive functions located in the brain of middle aged and older men. A vitamin proofed for keeping bones strong and clean, new research shows how memory, strength, and the ability of think quick, all relate to the normal intake of vitamin D.
Supplements, pills, fish, and a day at the beach all are different ways for the human body to receive an amount of vitamin D. Strong links between lower blood levels of vitamin D and a poor performance on a test assessing processing speed, and a measure of how well information is transported around the brain, from nerve cell to nerve cell. "It underpins how rapidly your brain can process information," says lead author David Lee. "It's a very sensitive test. It's very sensitive to aging as people grow older." Basically the men that were tested with high levels of Vitamin D had performed better in a simple pen and paper test that measured attention and how fast the brain processes information. With many Canadians with a very low Vitamin D count, this study has put a wide range of thought in the idea that vitamin D could possibly save many from memory lose, and the power to keep the brain at a normal, non decreasing state. Even though this isn’t an official report, the convenience of this product may be extraordinary and at the most if this isn’t true just a large reminder to take a healthy vitamin, the vitamin D itself is harmless and beneficial if taken without expecting these outcomes.
"We can’t at this stage say there is a biological link between vitamin D and how well your brain works", says Lee, but the idea that men will began to mix activities, the outdoors, and this vitamin to achieve this goal is a great idea even if it doesn’t work properly. Nothing can be lost with exercise and the outdoors even if this amazing product is not achieved. Without anyone taking this study to an extreme, this can bring better health benefits to the men all around the world, and the idea of spending hours sun tanning to receive this vitamin is out of the question, "We still saw this association between vitamin D levels and cognitive performance."

The case of mixed martial arts in Vancouver

April 2, the City of Vancouver Standing Committee received a report from staff, companies, and citizens that asked the council to either ban mixed martial arts or regulate it. This major decision can lead to the acceptance of this praised fighting world in B.Cs most popular city, and the extensive amount of profit that would follow the decision.
Many other cities all over the world have embraced this culture of organized fights, rather than banned it or made it illegal. A divined sport which is a mix of kickboxing, boxing, wrestling, and many other world known martial arts types create some of the most exciting combat sports in the world. “The attempt to kill with no circumstances", is a huge misconception of many people that clearly don't understand or watch the sport. First of all there are many rules, referees, and complex situations that have all been looked at by the UFC committee to make sure all fighters are safe and in a safe place.
There has never been a death in the Octagon or an injury more serious than a broken bone. With the economic problems this country is going through many wonder why this multi-million dollar business will not reach our doors in Vancouver."And this sport will get bigger and bigger. It will bring millions upon millions of dollars here to Tennessee every year. It's a wonderful sport but more importantly, it's going to bring a lot of money to the economy." Deciding against the idea of having this sport be presented in Vancouver, our city has given the UFC capable abilities to spawn a new home in Tennessee. An event which generated $626,000 at the gate has not been accepted by our city of Vancouver, which has just left questions on what threat this might bring, and what are we really losing with this decision.
Finally the UFC is not the circus they come in one night, and leave without any problems, just memories of the fights that had taken place. In my eyes the UFC is a great sport, and something we can really build around in Vancouver. Not only for the money, have the fans, but to give a wider range of great activities in our great city of Vancouver.

May 21, 2009- Superstar Michael Vick returns home from a two year imprisonment sentence that has disgraced the former National Football league legend, and has left him with a sentence of house arrest for the next two months. For his role in an underground dog fighting ring, Vick has obtained a ten-dollar an hour construction job to prove the citizens of Atlanta that he has learned his lesson, with the intentions of someday returning back to the NFL.
Passing, running, and at particular times special teams, this versatile athlete was a part of the greatest of stars and was believed to be one of the best multi-talented player that has ever played in the National Football league. Also being one of the highest-paid athletes in the United States, dreams of supporting a new family, purchasing a home, and living in a high class environment, Vick has potential of fortune and fame. This fate changed after being sentenced in December of 2007 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to operate a dog fighting ring.
The Atlanta Falcons who still own the rights to Vick's contract have said that the return of this certain individual is impossible for this player, but has publicly stated offers and trades will be accepted with open hands. With many teams, that need a quarterback, on the horizon of the season that is shortly beginning the NFL is talking and voting on the decision of this superstar.
"Mike has already paid his dues," White said. "If he gets reinstated before the season, there'll be a couple of teams that will be after him and give him a chance to play." With support of organizations and players, rejoining the league isn't difficult but fighting with the public, and the Animal activists that are protesting in Atlanta with the admission of Vick back to the league has put a quick and feared stop on the decision of this record breaking player. Neither the NFL, nor the public will truly decide the fate of this man, but the actions that he decides to act on in the next couple of months.

Vancouver murder conspiracy's

May 15, 2009- The Vancouver police department has officially announced the capture and imprisonment of five more men that are involved with the murder of the Bacon brothers and members of the Red Scorpion gang. With the city of Vancouver experiencing countless amounts of murders and gang violence in the last year, authorities are convinced these disputes are between the UN and the Red Scorpions, two home-grown Lower Mainland gangs involved in the drug trade.
Becoming one of the greatest conspiracies in Vancouver, officers have said that these two gangs had been under investigation since the summer of 2006 because,""they were believed to be conducting drug trafficking activities within the Lower Mainland." Authorities have not discussed who had released the new information that lead to these arrests, but have notified the community that wire taps, informants, and recordings of different gang meetings were all on file and ready for evidence." intercepted private communications between the UN and others which appear to indicate Roueche's involvement in drug-trafficking activities and possession of proceeds of crime". The Vancouver Police department has also announced anyone that is associated with the Red Scorpions and the Bacon Brothers could be virtually targeted for death and might be involved with problems that cant be resolved. For example the case of Alex Barber who was a stereo installers and was shot to death after driving the car he was working on, which belonged to one of the Bacon brothers.
Fortunately both gangs have taken massive hits that are affecting there sources, and members that help commit these alleged crimes and countless amounts of murders in the Lower mainland of Vancouver. Hopefully these crimes will end soon without to many incident people dieing and becoming involved with this mayhem, "
It was felt there was an increased risk to the public's safety due to the ongoing violence."

Taking a Risk

The Swine flu epidemic has caused major attention all over the world, and has put a major stop on tourism in Mexico, which is a large money making income for the country of Mexico. Hotels and Resorts located on the coast of Mexico have reported free vacations for three years to any tourist catching the swine flu while on holiday in there hotel. Over millions of dollars lost, this counter is promoted to keep tourism alive in Mexico, but is it worth the risk?
"The 'flu-free guarantee' assures three years of free holidays to travellers who present flu symptoms eight days after returning from their trip," said Fernando Garcia, director of one of the participating hotel groups. Eight days after the trip is the problem of this special guarantee. Over 58 deaths reported in Mexico, the swine flu is known to be deadly and very hard to predict if a human is carrying this flu. Most people need to understand the problems behind this "special deal", a fun and enjoyable trip to Mexico can be priceless and remarkable but with what cost.
"Tourist destinations are safe in Mexico. People can return calmly. We are carrying out intensive checks," Cordova said. These offers and deals are not worth the lives of a human being, dissecting this situation, how can a person have three years of free vacating when they are infected with a deadly flu, that can positively and realistically kill that certain human being. Expected to cost Mexico's economy around $2.3 billion in loses over these hard time, Mexico needs to understand if they contain this problem, and stop the traveling of people in and out of the country, they can end this problem faster which will lead to the normal tourism rates of the country. The problem with promoting these offers can make the flu become a larger issue with more causalities and extend the problem of these country, which initially leads to more money lost for the country of Mexico . "The World Health Organization urged people to remain on alert Tuesday because the H1N1 virus could possibly mutate into a more virulent form and spark an influenza pandemic that could be expected to circle the globe up to three times", published by the Vancouver Sun.

Chapter 11 for the Chrysler company?

Thursday- In the long and innovative history of Chrysler, one of the longest Detroit city automobile company, has signed legal papers that officially announce their chapter 11 bankruptcy throughout the company. Affected by the economical struggles that the United States are facing at this time, Chrysler companies all over the world have pulled production rates due to the $6.5 billion dollar debts owed to different suppliers and companies throughout the world.
The newly elected American government has joined forces with Canadian and Ontario governments that will supply Chrysler with $10 billion dollars that contains a promise of a 10 per cent equity stake in Chrysler. The United States will receive eight per cent of Chrysler, while Canada and Ontario will jointly hold a two per cent interest. Many Canadians have questioned why this American company has any significance with the people of Canada, and our welfare. "We're in extraordinarily unusual times," Harper said. "Given the options we had, this is the best package, this is the best solution. It will ensure a viable Chrysler. And it will ensure a viable sector coming out of the recession, which Canada must have." What most Canadians don't understand is the fact that Chrysler offers 10,000 Canadian employees, and suppliers that would have lost their jobs if the support of the government wasn't involved.
Chrysler now has "a chance not only to survive but thrive"said the Whitehouse, which are supporting the company with open hands, and are letting the public know about plans with the million dollar international car company Fiat. In conclusion, this great North America bond could help save a company, jobs of many Canadians, and develop a new partnership that could boost the amount of income from the automobile sales, that the Asian companies are thriving in, that are so high in British Columbia. "Chrysler was once one of the world's foremost automotive companies," Harper said. "As a result of this restructuring plan and its new partnership with Fiat, we're confident it can become one again."

This isn't St. Louis

Thursday April, 29 the Vancouver Canucks played there first game, in the second round of the playoffs, against the young, and powerhouse Chicago Blackhawks. Coming off a four game sweep of St. Louis, the confidante Vancouver player's had high hopes on the road to the Stanley Cup.
“We knew we were going to win,” he said. “We had a push, we knew we were the fresher team. They just had a pretty hard series and we were definitely the fresher team.”Starting the third period with a three goal lead, the Canucks looked calm and relaxed. Unfortantely Chicago took this mental state as an advantage and scored three back to back goals. “We have done a good job all last series of not sitting on leads, especially in the second half and I don’t think we sat our lead, but as soon as they got that first one it seemed like they had some momentum going,” Bieksa said. Maybe the ten day break was to much for the team, but three goals under eight minutes is ridiculous, and some people question the drive of the Canucks after a performance like this. " The Canucks are at the top of their game", thinking about this quote is comforting and acceptable for the great fans of the team, but a mind set like this for the player's could cost them their great run at the Stanley cup.
The Canucks appeared to have the game in complete control after the first, reminiscing the games played agasint the St. Louis. Statically Chicago is better than St. Louis and contains the better arsenal, but the amount of heart and toughness they bring to the game could put an end to the Canucks great run. "They got out hit, out skated and out shot us and had to kill off penalties for most of the first 40 minutes. Hopefully we are the ones who received the wake up call".
